These take ten minutes on WhatsApp and will tell you more than any portfolio.

• Who owns the domain and the files? The answer must be you, in your name, from day one. If the agency registers the domain under their account, walk away.
• What is the total cost over two years? Build, domain, hosting, plugin renewals, care plan. Get it in one number.
